Exporting data
Opening the 'export dialog'
To open the export dialog, you can either...- click the main-menu button ( 1 ) and select 'export'( 2 ), or...
- Right-click on any object ( 3 ) and select 'export'( 4 ) from the context menu.

There is also an export icon in the toolbar ( 1 ) which lets you export selected objects in the current view:

Exporting search results
You can also export the resulting objects of a search. On the search tab ( 1 ), run a seach to get a list of objects. Then click on the export icon ( 2 ). Only objects from the search result will be checked in the "Objects to be exported" list.
Export your project data to XML
Click "Export project" in the main menu and specify the XML file location and name. articy:draft will then create an XML file with your project data.The XML scheme
Your articy:draft installer package contained an XML scheme. It was copied to your articy:draft installation directory in the "support" subfolder:articy:draft folder\support\XmlContentExport_FullProject.xsd.
You can use the XML scheme to easily parse the exported XML file for use in your in-house tool chain.
Export to Microsoft® Excel® (.xlsx)
You can export data in a structured way to Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheets.
Select one or more objects and click on export in the right-click context menu or in the toolbar. The following export dialog appears:

Here you can further define the list of objects to be exported by using the checkboxes on the left. In addition you have a set of export options to the right.
Sorted by
Each object is represented by a row in the spreadsheet. This setting specifies how rows should be sorted, either by...- Name
- Technical name
- Object type
- Template
- Project path
Grouped by
When you enable grouping, the first column ( 1 ) will be used for grouping. Plus, the groups can actually be collapsed and expanded in Excel®, to help you focus.
Create worksheet for each type
This option lets articy:draft create a worksheet for each of the object types ( 1 ) instead of using the Excel grouping feature:
Naming to be used
Specifies what text should be displayed in column headlines: A property's display name or technical name.Ordering of features
This affects the horizontal ordering of feature columns and specifies which come first further left in the spreadsheet:- Alphabetically sorted
- Frequently used first
Display statistics
This option adds a statistics row below the actual content.
Page size
Here you can switch between:- A4 (8.3 x 11.7 in)
- Letter (8.0 x 10.5 in)
Export markup NEW in 2.0!
Since articy:draft 2 you are able to change the color, the size or the style of your text. If you check this box, the formatted articy properties in the exported Excel file will contain standard HTML source code instead of pure text.Export to Microsoft® Word® (.docx)
It's also possible to export articy:draft objects to Microsoft® Word® documents.
Select one or more objects and click on export in the right-click context menu or in the toolbar. The following export dialog appears:

Export method:
- Full export to one file (default) - All selected objects are exported with all their properties into one .docx document.
- Full export to multiple files - All selected objects are exported with all their properties while for every object an individual .docx is created.
- As list - All selected objects are exported with their basic properties into one list (landscape format)
| articy:draft uses an empty Word® Document as a template and puts all data into it. If you want to change the look of the Word®-file, you can easily edit the template word file. You can find it in the \bin\Export\Docx folder of our articy:draft installation directory. |
